Schools for Chiapas office reconstruction in Caracol II, Oventic
Over 100 Mayan community volunteers worked from
dawn
to dusk over ten days in December 2006 rebuilding
the central offices of Schools for Chiapas in the
highlands Zapatista civilian center of Oventic.
During the Encounter of the Zapatista Peoples and
the Peoples' of the World, the Schools for Chiapas
offices became a center for Zapatista Agro-ecology
educational programs - as well as a comfortable new
home for the New Year's delegation.
