The Promoters of Justice of Schools for Chiapas are hardworking, dedicated individuals who are committed to making the world a better place through collective action. These people-of-conscience come from many backgrounds, are involved in many struggles, and do not limit their activism to Chiapas solidarity work.
The SFChiapas Promoters of Justice are young and old, rich and poor. They are committed to movements as diverse as immigrant rights and anti-globalization, union and workplace organizing, anti-war and anti-imperialist movements, bio-diesel technology and solar power, Mumia al Jamal defense work, popular art and theatre, organic and sustainable agriculture; public and bilingual education reform, popular research and publishing; liberation theology; human and civil rights; and many other struggles.
The Promoters of Justice of Schools for Chiapas also work to support the efforts of the autonomous, Mayan communities of Chiapas in their struggle for dignity, democracy, and justice. Schools for Chiapas provides a forum for discussion, an opportunity to network and ongoing support for the hard work of social activism.
