Monthly Donors

Building a new world is expensive. It costs lots in terms of time and creativity.  Hope is costly; and dignity is priceless. In order to do this work, we arrive, inevitably, at the need to ask you, our advocates and our supporters, our co-conspirators in the belief that a better world is possible, for support in the form of cold, hard cash.

The work of building schools and classrooms, funding training projects for Indigenous health care promoters, supporting sustainable ecological agricultural and reforestation projects, promoting the efforts of the various productive projects costs a lot. Likewise the blackboards, computers, notebooks, self-published texts, and workbooks don’t come cheap. Even the simple things, like arranging for the food and transportation which will allow young and old Tsotsil, Tseltal, Chol, Tojolabal, Mam, and Zoque men and women to attend an ongoing seminar, class or workshop organized by the movement is beyond the reach of most individuals and subsidizing these costs adds up.

It's hackneyed but true.... for the cost of your daily cup of coffee or sandwich (pennies a day) you can make a big difference. Zapatista projects stretch every peso and achieve miracles with extraordinarily small resources. Be assured that, no matter the amount, your donation will be greatly appreciated and put to good use.

Many Schools for Chiapas supporters have chosen to make a monthly pledge that is automatically deducted from their credit cards.  These monthly pledges are greatly appreciated as they provide a basis for us to more realistically plan for the future and ensure that this building of dreams in the Mexican southeast can count on a little cash coming in on a regular basis.
